Obituary

Lester Anton Anderson was born in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on May 23rd, 1886, the son of Pete and Ingar (Nelson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed by Rev. B.F. Bengtson in the Swede Home Church. He was united in marriage to Minnie Christina Swanson by Rev. Olof Hoel of Canby, Minnesota, on June 12, 1912. He continued farming in his home community until 1932 when the family moved to Tyro Township. He retired from active work and purchased a home in Clarkfield five years ago. Mr. Anderson served many years as trustee of the Swede Home congregation until he joined the First English Lutheran Church of Clarkfield. He suffered a severe heart attack on May 5, 1952, from which he seemed almost recovered. On October 22, 1953, however, he suffered another attack more serious, death ending his suffering on November 2, 1953. He passed away at the Clarkfield Hospital, trusting in Jesus and a heavenly home where we can all be together again. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and the following children: Lorraine (Mrs. Willie West) of Clarkfield, Marvelle (Mrs. Manley Olson) of Watson, Minnesota, Artys (Mrs. Joe Cole) of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, and Alford of Clarkfield; nine grandchildren; two sisters: Betty (Mrs. Sebert Severson) of Cottonwood, Minnesota, and Ella (Mrs. Sever Kompelien) of Minneota, Minnesota; one half-sister, Mrs. Maye Oakland of Clarkfield; four half-brothers: Bennie of Rock Island, Illinois, Alvin and Arnold of Clarkfield and Palmer of Cass Lake, Minnesota; and an uncle, Nels Bergman of West Haven, Connecticut. He had reached the age of 67 years, five months and nine days. He was preceded in death by hius parents, two sisters and two half-sisters. God bless his memory.
