Leonard Fred Weise, 84, of rural Cottonwood, Minnesota, died Saturday, March 1, 1986, at the Granite Falls Hospital, Granite Falls, Minnesota. Services were held Tuesday, March 4, 1986, 1:30 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, Wood Lake, Minnesota, with the Rev. Chester Zuleger officiating. Mrs. Donald Rebers was the organist at the services. Final Resting Place is the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery of Wood Lake, Minnesota. Casket Bearers were Joel Albrecht, Harold Foss, Karl Pipke, Paul Pipke, Donavon Wiegers and James Witt. Leonard was born November 5, 1901, near Elmore, Minnesota, to Paul and Caroline (Footh) Weise. He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Elmore and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Elmore. He married Emma Wiegers on June 20, 1931, at St. John's Lutheran Church of Omro Township, Yellow Medicine County. They farmed near Cottonwood in Normania Township. He was preceded in death by his wife Emma in 1983; two brothers, Edward and William; one sister, Clara; and his parents. Suriving Leonard are his son, Arnold, rural Cottonwood; two sisters, Lillian Weise, West Hope, North Dakota, and Dora Phelps, St. Peter, Minnesota; and one brother, Bernard (Ben) Weise, Lafayette, Minnesota.
