Leonard Gustav Nehring was born October 27, 1906, at Tyro Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnnesota, to August and Marie (Rabe) Nehring. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church on November 20, 1906, and confirmed on March 20, 1921, at the same church. On February 5, 1929, he was united in marriage to Leona Kelm at Zion Lutheran Church. This marriage was blessed by two children, Myron of Boyd, Minnesota, and LaVonn (Mrs. Bob Alleckson) of Minneota, Minnesota. Leonard passed away August 8, 1973, at the Clarkfield Community Memorial Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota, at the age of 66 years. He is survived by two children, four grandchildren: Wayne and Donna Nehring and Julie and Thomas Alleckson; five sisters: Augusta (Mrs. Carl Schulz) of Enid, Oklahoma, Alma (Mrs. Edwin Helberg) of Garber, Oklahoma, Anna (Mrs. Ed Miller) of Enid, Oklahoma, Alfiel (Mrs. Forrest Remington) of Covington, Oklahoma, Sala (Mrs. Herman Herth) of Fairmont, Oklahoma; four brothers: John, Edward, Helmer and Harold Nehring, all of Enid, Oklahoma.
