Leonard Henry Loose was born June 9, 1905, to parents Henry and Anna (Block) Loose at Boyd, Minnesota. He was baptized by Rev. E.G. Fritz and confirmed March 28, 1920, at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. Bernhard Luttman. On October 11, 1931, Leonard was united in marriage to Hulda Zietlow. Five children were born to the couple. Mr. Loose served for many years on the town board. He farmed for 44 years in Tyro Township and retired in 1975, moving to Clarkfield, where he lived until his death. He passed away September 15, 1978, at Clarkfield Community Hospital, at the age of 73 years. Survivors include his wife, Hulda; four sons: Vernon, Arlen, Dennis, all of Boyd, and Donald of Clarkfield; one daughter, Donna (Mrs. James Boraas) of Appleton, Minnesota; two brothers: Louis of Mora, Minnesota, and Reuben of Eugene, Oregon; three sisters: Ida (Mrs. Herman Roske), Clara (Mrs. Ed Galow), and Rose (Mrs. Leonard Eggen), all of Clarkfield; one brother-in-law, Leonard Eggen; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
