Obituary

Leonard Elmer Lange was born December 17, 1908 in Boyd, Minnesota to Emil and Lilly (Sommerfeld) Lange. He was baptized on January 17, 1909 and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church of Omro Township in 1923. At the age of five, he moved to a farm in Omro Township. Leonard became active in running the family farm upon his father's death, when he was fifteen years old. Leonard married Elnora Moe on June 26, 1941. They continued to farm along with their two children until 1983, when they moved to their retirement home in Montevideo. Leonard was a faithful servant to his church and held numerous positions in other community organizations. Leonard passed away on Friday, January 20, 1995 at Abbot-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 86 years. He is survived by his wife, Elnora; daughter, LaVonne Gades (and Sanford) of Farmington; Son, Elroy (and Diane) of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; grandsons Rodney and Jared Lange, and Keith Gades. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and three sisters, all of whom died in infancy.
