IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leo Vincent
Legros
November 13, 1890 – November 13, 1890
Leo Vincent LeGros was born in Lismore, Minnesota, on November 13, 1890, to George and Catherine (Sweeny) LeGros, parents of a family of 13. The family moved to Adrain, Minnesota, when Leo was a child and it was in that community where he attended school, completing his high school education in 1909, after which he enrolled in the University of Minnesota and spent three years in the electrical engineering college. He came to Clarkfield and was employed as an electrical engineer for C.S. Orwell until 1928 when the local light plant was sold to the village of Clarkfield. He continued as city electrician until 1930 when he entered into business for himself. In 1914, he was married to Josephine Iverson of Clarkfield and to this union four sons were born, all of whom survive him. They are George and Leo, Jr. of Minneapolis, James of Kansas City, Missouri, and Mervyn, traveling salesman for Coca Cola. Mr. and Mrs. LeGros resided in Clarkfield all their wedded life except for a short period at Dodge Center, Minnesota, and two years at Echo, Minnesota. Surviving, besides his children, are his widow, Josephine; his aged mother, Katherine LeGros of Adrian; three sisters: Angelus, a high school teacher of St. Paul, Mrs. Margaret Burns of Mankato, Minnesota, and Georgia Becker of Adrian; two brothers: H. LeGros of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Cedric of Sioux City, Iowa; and three grandchildren: Lynn, David and Leo Charles, all of Minneapolis; besides many nieces, nephews and other relatives. His father and seven members of the family preceded him in death. One brother, Maxwell, 44 passed away suddenly from a heart condidtion only a few hours previous to Leo's passing. Leo had been ill about four years but remained interested in community affairs and enjoyed the companionship of the many friends who spent much time with him while he was confined to his home. He read a great deal as long as his eyesight permitted. He was a member of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, the Sunbeam Lodge 297, Royal Arch Masons of Montevideo, the Commandery at Marshall and Zuhrah Temple, Minneapolis. IN MEMORY OF Leo V.
