Leo J. Koepp was born to Julius and Augusta (Klatt) Koepp on September 28, 1886, in Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed during his youth and was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church. On October 14, 1909, Leo Koepp and Louise Kelm were united in marriage at Boyd, Minnesota. This union was blessed with three children, LeNora (Mrs. Irvin Newman) of Osceloa, Wisconsin, Reuben L. Koepp of Boyd, Minnesota, and Alice (Mrs. Dale Jorgenson) of Couer d'Alene, Idaho. The family made their home on the present farm all the intervening years with the exception of a few years in the village of Clarkfield, Minnesota. Mr. Koepp served the community on various public boards. Last fall the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with all the members of their family present as well as many relatives and friends. Mr. Koepp passed away very peacefully in his sleep early Friday morning, April 22, 1960, while visting at the home of his daughter, LeNora Newman at Osceola, Wisconsin. Besides his wife and children, Mr. Koepp leaves to mourn his passing, ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Herman, of Boyd, Minnesota; three sisters: Ida (Mrs. George Miller) of Galva, Iowa, Alvina (Mrs. Otto Steinke) of Boyd, Minnesota, and Bertha (Mrs. August Laechelt) of Granite Falls, Minnesota.
