LaVerna Irene Miller was born December 13, 1913, in Normania Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnnesota, the daughter of Martin and Ida (Brusven) Miller. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Lucas Lutheran Church of Normania Township. She attended country school in Normania Township. LaVerna was employed, during the war, at Twin Cities Ordnance Plant at New Brighton, Minnesota, and then as a seamstress at H.D. Lee Co., for 12 years. She also was employed at Northern Cap Co. of Minneapolis for 20 years. She enjoyed hiking and dancing. LaVerna was living at Innsbruck Healthcare Center of New Brighton, Minnesota, at the time of her death on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 16 days. LaVerna is survived by her sister-in-law Wanda Miller Kattaze of St. Paul, Minnesota; and three nieces: Carole Folkerts of St. Paul, Minnnesota, Linda Beck of Champlin, Minnesota, and Laurie Dawson of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; and a nephew, Steven Miller of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Orphie Miller (who died in World War II) and Hardy Miller. Blessed be her memory.
