LaVern Martin Gebers, 74, died October 31, 1986, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota. Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 4, 1986, at Clarkfield Lutheran Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Pastors Gordon A. Trelstad and Phillip O. Berg of Willmar officiating. Soloist was Anita Rolighed and organist was Karen Donner. Congregational Hymns were "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." Casket Bearers were Todd Eschen, Dennis Immer, Michael Lee, Jim Johnson, Tom Rolighed, and Mark Fenske. Honorary Casket Bearers were Alton Hanson, Conrad Fagerlie, Waldemar Anderson, Curtis Lynner, Milton Jacobson, Johnny Sturgeon, Alton Rolighed and Dale Jorgenson. Final Resting Place is the Clarkfield City Cemetery, Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was born November 1, 1912, in Clarkfield to Herman and Mary (Schlee) Gebers. He was baptized and confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. On November 22, 1936, he married Grace Dahl of Boyd, Minnesota. He lived and farmed west of Clarkfield for twenty years. They then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and had a dairy store for sixteen years. In 1977, they retired to Willmar where they have resided ever since. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Robert; and brothers Arthur, Earl and Kenneth. He is survived by his wife, Grace of Willmar; daughters, Mary Ellen Lee of Bloomington, Minnesota, Loretta Eschen of Clarkfield and Susan Immer of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister, Ellnora Maursetter of Clarkfield; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
