Winson
March 2, 1867 – November 14, 1891
Lars L. Winson was born March 2, 1867, in Iowa, the son of Lars and Anna (Larson) Winson. Together with his parents they took up homestead in Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Later they moved to a farm in Lisbon Township. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On November 14, 1891, he was united in marriage to Anna Olson. To this union ten children were born: Olaf of Valley City, North Dakota, Laura (Mrs. C.H. Olson) of Hazel Run, Minnesota, Hilda (Mrs. Melvin Velde), Alma Johnson, Clarence, Ella (Mrs. Raymond Larson), Florence (Mrs. Clifford Sandager) all of Clarkfield, Miller of Minneapolis, Stella (Mrs. Ivar Swanson) of Montevideo, and one son, Severin who preceded him in death. In the spring of 1932 he retired from the farm and moved to Hazel Run where he, together with his wife, lived until his death, on Saturday afternoon, January 14th, 1950, at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 12 days. He is survived by his wife and nine children; three sisters and two brothers: Mary (Mrs. H. Oakland), Sophie (Mrs. H. Muxter) of Montevideo, Lina (Mrs. A. Peterson) and John of Minneapolis, and Anton of Clarkfield. Preceding him in death are one brother, Vinse, and three sisters: Stina (Mrs. Lee), Martha (Mrs. Nelson) and Alena. He was a kind and patient husband and father and friend to all who knew him. May God bless his memory.
