Larry Elliot Strand December 19, 1947 ~ May 22, 2014 Larry Elliot Strand was born December 19, 1947, in Montevideo, Minnesota, to Elliot and Thelma (Spande) Strand. He was baptized and confirmed at Baxter Lutheran Church and graduated from Boyd High School in 1966. Larry was a member of Dawson-Boyd School Board for 25 years, and was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed watching sporting events for Dawson-Boyd High School and the Twins, Vikings and Gophers. He was united in marriage with Carol (Erickson) on October 8, 1965, in Clear Lake, South Dakota. He was a farmer and a dispatcher for Western Co-op Transport. Larry passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at the Johnson Memorial Health Services in Dawson at the age of 66 with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife Carol; his children: Dawn Cedergren of Ramsey, Wayne of Sauk Rapids, Bradley (Larissa) of Williamstown, New Jersey, Brian (Jamey) of Dawson, Darwin (Jill) of Montevideo, James (Lisa) of Madison, Melissa (Ryan) of Gary, South Dakota; 25 grandchildren; brothers: Steve (Cathy) Strand of Montevideo, Gary (Brenda) Strand of Boyd, Bruce (Jeanette) Strand of Boyd; sisters-in-law: Anita (Tom) Leger of Montevideo and Kathy Erickson of Shakopee; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Elliot Strand; mother, Thelma Lovehaug and step-father, Rueben Lovehaug. Blessed be his memory. A Celebration of the Life of Larry E.
