Konie Kaupang, 79, formerly of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died Tuesday, July 9, 1985, at his residence in the Brookside Manor Apartments of Montevideo, Minnesota. Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 12, 1985, at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Pastor William Klavetter officiating. Herb Jessen was the soloist with Mrs. Karen Donner the organist. Casket Bearers were Telford Berg, Leonard Enevoldsen, Virgil Enevoldsen, Gordon Johnson, Clarence Quammen, and Rhodean Runyon. He was born on the home farm in Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota, near Boyd on December 30, 1905, to Elvin and Bellenda (Evjen) Kaupang. On April 26, 1936, he married Vesta Runyon in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Survivors include his son, Russell of Austin, Minnesota; daughter, Mrs. LaVonne (Dennis) Sundlee of Montevideo, Minnesota; sisters, Mrs. Mamie (Gust) Enevoldsen of Montevideo and Mrs. Geneva Nelson of Montevideo; Grandchildren, Derek and Darci Sundlee of Montevideo and Tammie and Kimberly Kaupang of Minneapolis, Minnesota; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Vesta on February 7, 1985, two sisters and two brothers.
