Obituary

Kermit Olaf was the youngest son of M. Olai and Kathrina (Hanson) Vik. He was born April 16, 1914, at Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church where he was a life member. Ole was graduated from the Clarkfield High School with the class of 1932 and attended Concordia College at Moorhead for a year. He spent his entire life in the vicinity of Clarkfield with the exception of the three years that he served during World War II under General Patton in Europe. On November 11, 1961, he was united in marriage to Barbara Skaug. Within recent months they took little Lisa Jean into their home. Ole was manager of the Producers' Co-op Shipping Association in Clarkfield. On February 25, 1966, he entered St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, where he passed away on March 17, 1966, after three weeks of severe illness. He reached the age of 51 years. His parents, two sisters, Mabel and Ruth, and two brothers, Arthur and Dr. Melvin Vik, preceded him in death. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Barbara, and eight months old daughter, little Lisa Jean; three brothers and one sister: Theodore of St. Anthony, Idaho, Reuben of Clarkfield, Henrick formerly of Watertown, South Dakota, and Olivia (Mrs. Abner Hendrickson) of Decorah, Iowa; a number of nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
