Kenneth Donald Jacobson was born March 10th, 1926, in Normania Township, Yellow Medicine County, rural Hanley Falls, Minnesota, to Alexander and Julia (Stevens) Jacobson. He was baptized and confirmed at Spring Creek Lutheran Church, in rural Clarkfield, Minnesota. After graduating from Clarkfield High School in 1944, he entered the U.S. Army and served stateside during World War II. Following discharge from the Army, he returned home to farm. On March 21st, 1952, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Vold, at Hazel Run Lutheran Church, in Hazel Run, Minnesota. They made their home on the farm in rural Clarkfield and raised their family. Kenneth loved farming, and never really retired from farming. Always generous and caring, he often was the first person to offer help to another farmer, who through some tragedy, needed help with their crops. He could fix just about anything, from mechanical, plumbing to electrical. Kenneth served on Clarkfield Elevator board for several years, and was also a lifelong member of the Anderson-Tongen Legion Post in Hazel Run, MN. In 2011, Kenneth and Kathleen, moved off the farm and into their home in Clarkfield. His grandson, Nathan Riecke, took over the farm operation in 2008, and Kenneth continued his love of farming. This spring, despite declining health, he still helped get the crops planted. He loved his family and cared about what was going on with all of his children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Throughout his life, he was a living example of his Christian faith. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; son, Kimm (Sheryl) Jacobson; daughter, Kayann (Ross) Riecke all of Clarkfield; grandchildren: Carrie (Daniel) Dorson of Eden Prairie, Kris (Stacy) Jacobson of Granite Falls, Randy Jacobson of Olivia, Nathan (Hillary) Riecke of Clarkfield, and Erin Riecke of Mapleton, ND; great-grandchildren: Kylor Schroeder, Alex Jacobson, Jacob, Anna and Ava Dorson, Cody and Cameron Jacobson, and Calvin and Weston Riecke.
