Kathleen Jean Vik was born in the Grand Rapids- Itasca Hospital, Grand Rapids, Minnesota, on August 28, 1961, the daughter of Reuben Darrel and Yvonne (Dippold) Vik. She was baptized into the Christian faith on April 21, 1962, by Pastor Bagaason, at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. She spent most of her short life in the Duluth, Minnesota area, bringing joy and love to those around her. Three-year-old Kathy lost her life as she ran into the street in Duluth on Saturday, August 29, 1964, the day after observing her third birthday. Left to mourn little Kathy are her parents; her brother, Perry; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mabel Lyon of Bovey, Minnesota; and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Vik of Clarkfield, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
