Marie Knutson, 97, passed away on Monday, December 21, 1987, at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 1987, from the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, Clarkfield, Minnesota, with Pastor Gordon Trelstad officiating. Organist was Karen Donner and vocal soloist was Loren Norgaard. Casket Bearers were Harold Huseby, Murlon Knutson, John Olson, Robert Olson, Phillip Rachie and Carl Risendahl. Final Resting Place is the Belview Lutheran Cemetery, Belview, Minnesota. Marie Knutson was born in Swede Forest Township, Redwood County, near Belview, Minnesota on November 13, 1890, to parents, Kolbert and Berte (Gimmestad) Knutson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Rock Dell Lutheran Church of Belview. Marie worked in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for the Pittsburg Glass Company and also at the Hennepin County Courthouse for many years. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church of Minneapolis and after moving to Clarkfield she was a member of the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, Ladies Circle, Study Club and Clarkfield Senior Citizens. Marie attended school in Belview and then went on to attend Business College in Minneapolis. In 1980 she moved from Minneapolis to Clarkfield and made her home with her sister until 1985 when she entered the Clarkfield Care Center. Marie is survived by her sister, Lenore Olson of Clarkfield; her sister-in-law, Cecelia Anderson of Litchfield, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and eight sisters.
