June Ardell Homan was born on June 6, 1938, in Willmar, Minnesota, to parents Joy and Evelyn (Schafer) Homan. She was baptized in Lake Lillian, Minnesota, and confirmed in the Methodist Church in Excelsior, Minnesota. She graduated from Hopkins High School in Hopkins, Minnesota, in 1956. June and Oscar "Wendell" Willander were united in marriage on November 14, 1964, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Clarkfield, Minnesota. They moved to Boyd, Minnesota, where June worked at the fertilizer plant and was a homemaker. June passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2006, at the Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, after fighting a courageous battle of Multiple Myeloma. She had reached the age of 68 years, 3 months, and 29 days. In her life she enjoyed embroidery, painting ceramic villages, and creating stained glass artwork. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family and friends and spending her winters at Sky Valley Park in Desert Hot Springs, California. June is survived by her children: Jacqueline (Tom) Fossel of Wegdahl, Minnesota; Wendy (Mike) Skorczewski of Arco, Minnesota; Aaron (Michelle) Willander of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; Angie Willander of Chaska, Minnesota; close family friend Alison Groen of Chaska, Minnesota; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Dallas Homan of New Hope, Minnesota; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
