Julia Western, 91, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died Sunday, November 30, 1986, at the Clarkfield Care Center. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 1986, at Bergen Lutheran Church of Stony Run Township with Pastor William Klavetter officiating. Organist was Janet Gabrielson and soloist was Debbie Landmark. Final Resting Place is the Bergen Cemetery, Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. Casket Bearers were Chester Cornelius, Gaylen Cornelius, Allen Isaacs, Darrell Landmark, Gilmore Larson and John Thompson. She was born June 9,1895, to Jon and Ingeborg (Baalrud) Western in Lisbon Township of Yellow Medicine County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Bergen Lutheran Church where she has been a lifetime member. She was employed for many years as a housekeeper for Carl and Mae Brunkow of rural Maynard, Minnesota, and later for Mrs. Minnie Steenson of Montevideo, Minnesota. After retirement she lived for several years with nephew Alton and Rudell Isaacs. About 1972 she moved to the Valhalla Apartments at Clarkfield where she enjoyed the company of many friends among the residents. Due to failing health she moved to the Clarkfield Care Center in October 1985 where she lived until her death. She is survived by nephews and nieces Lawrence Western of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mildred Johnson of Mount Prospect, Illinois, Albert Walter, Robert Western and Mildred Dolan of Stanley, North Dakota, Velma Enger of Palermo, North Dakota, Evelyn Vincent of Jefferson, South Dakota, and Alton Isaacs of Clarkfield.
