Julia Stenson passed away at the Clarkfield Hospital on Thursday, January 17, 1974, at the age of 76 years. Funeral Services were held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd, Minnesota, Rev. Duane Larson, officiating. Miss Helen Krogstad was at the organ and Vernon Stevens, soloist. Casket Bearers were John, Lowell and Truman Arneson, Howard and Roland Jurgenson, and Elmo Sanvig. Interment was at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery of Boyd. Julia was born May 10, 1897, at Thor Iowa, to parents Malinda and Thomas Arneson. She was baptized in the Wensuang Church in Thor and confirmed in the Clarkfield Lutheran Church. She moved with her parents, brothers, and sisters at an early age to Clarkfield and attended a rural school near Boyd. She was married to John Stenson on December 20, 1921. To this union two daughters, Joan and Carol, were born. They lived on a farm near Boyd until they moved to Clarkfield 15 years ago. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd and the Ladies Aid. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, John Stenson, of Clarkfield; daughters: Joan (Mrs. Harold Anderson) of Boyd, and Carol (Mrs. Gerald Ecklund) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; step children: Mrs. Ray Hofmann of Boyd, and Sheridan Stenson of Portsmouth, Virginia; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters: Rachel Halvorson and Edith Arneson of Walhalla, North Dakota; brothers: George Anreson of Park City, Montana, Albert Arneson of Baudette, Minnesota, Theodore and Ernest Arneson of Walhalla; besides sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
