IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julia N.
(Nelson) Severson
March 5, 1879 – December 19, 1953
Julia N. Severson, the daughter of Ole and Gjertrud (Larson) Nelson was born in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on March 5, 1879, and baptized in the Lutheran faith. She was confirmed January 1, 1894, at the Swede Home Lutheran Church by Rev. B.F. Bengtson. On October 20, 1902, she was united in marriage to Albert Severson of Cottonwood, Minnesota. One son, Oren Alvin, was born to this union. On April 1, 1925, at the age of 21 years, he was called to his eternal rest. Julia and her husband were engaged in farming until the spring of 1942 when they moved to Clarkfield. A year later, Albert passed away and Julia remained in Clarkfield until December 19, 1953, when she became a resident of the Madison Lutheran Home, Madison, Minnesota. Since her marriage she has been a member of the St. Lucas Lutheran congregation and the ALCW. Mrs. Severson passed away Thursday evening, August 8, 1968, at the Madison Lutheran Home, at the age of 89 years. She was the last surviving member of the Ole and Gjertrud Nelson family. She was blessed in that she was able to be up and around until the last two days before her death. She enjoyed and appreciated the many visits and fellowship with friends and relatives and the many kindnesses shown her during her stay at the Madison Lutheran Home. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, together with one sister-in-law, Mrs. Emma Nelson of Clarkfield, and one brother-in-law, Otto Friberg of Minneapolis. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
