Julia E. Ford was born September 17, 1885, in Normania Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to the parents Hans and Ingeborg (Quam) Christensen. She was baptized and confirmed at the Spring Creek Lutheran Church. She was married to John Ford on November 30, 1910, at Augustana Lutheran Church at Clarkfield, Minnesota. To this union seven children were born. Following their marriage they lived in Montana and Minneapolis and then returned in 1915 to the farm in Normania which was homesteaded by her parents. Since 1958 she has lived in her home at Clarkfield. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed. She passed away at the Montevideo Hospital on November 6, 1972, at the age of 87 years. Julia is survived by her five childen: Haynes of Dawson, Minnesota, Lloyd of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, Roland of Clarkfield, Myrtle of Mound, Minnesota, and Myra of Clarkfield; five grandchildren: Curtis of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, John and Lois of Robbinsdale, and David and Julie of Mound, Minnesota. Preceding her in death were her husband John; two daughters: Inga in infancy and Evelyn at the age of 17 years; one granddaughter, Shirley, at the age of 18 years; five brothers and three sisters.
