Judith Odella Aakvik was born April 17, 1913, in Tyro Township to John and Olga Aakvik. She was baptized on June 8, 1913, and confirmed July 8, 1928, at Clarkfield Lutheran Church. She attended and graduated from Clarkfield High School. On December 13, 1932, she married Winfred M. Hanson. She and Winfred farmed near Clarkfield for 43 years. In 1978 they moved to Montevideo, Minnesota, where they retired. In her spare time, Judith enjoyed cooking and baking (especially lefse) for her husband and four sons. She also enjoyed flower gardening and crocheting beautiful things and sharing them with friends and family. Judith passed away June 21, 1991, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital at the age of 78 years. She is survived by husband Winfred; children: Marlyn (wife Shirley) of Madison, Minnesota, Donald (wife Joyce) of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Wesley (wife Marilyn) of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Richard (wife Kathy) of Bloomington, Minnesota; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brother, Melvin Aakvik of Clarkfield, Minnesota; sister, Evelyn Sorenson of Clarkfield, Minnesota; sister Myrtle Booker of Keokuk, Iowa; brother, Art Aakvik of Coosbay, Oregon; brother, Bennie Aakvik of Walcott, North Dakota; and sister-in-law Doris Aakvik of Montevideo, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant sister, Josephine and brother Carl Aakvik.
