Juanita Mae Sorensen Giles was born November 24, 1935, to parents Arthur and Erma (Rasmussen) Sorensen at Tyler, Minnesota. She was baptized in Arco, Minnesota, by Rev. Wenzel Bloom. She was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Arco. She attended grade school in Arco and graduated in 1953 from Ivanhoe High School, Ivanhoe, Minnesota. Following graduation, she worked at First National Bank in Ivanhoe. On October 29, 1955, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Giles. To this union, two children were born: Cindy and Craig. Juanita worked at various jobs. On January 2, 1980, she started working at the Granite Falls Hospital and Manor, Granite Falls, Minnesota, where she worked until her retirement in 2007. At the time of her death she was living in the Grandview Apartments in Granite Falls. Juanita passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 20 days. She is survived by her daughter: Cindy (Jim) Fjermestad of Granite Falls and her son: Craig (Valerie) Giles of Clarkfield. She is also survived by her grandson Shawn Giles of Clarkfield; granddaughter Cheri Fjermestad of Granite Falls; and aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Henry Weiss. Blessed be her memory.
