Joseph Arnold (Joe) Cole was born July 8, 1907 in Sandnes Township near Hanley Falls, Minnesota, to Christian and Helga (Slotten) Cole. He attended rural school at District 10 in Sandnes Township. Joe was united in marriage to Artys Anderson on October 19,1947. To this union three children were born: Jarrol, Jo Ann, and Robert. Joe farmed near Hanley Falls until his retirement on the farm. He was an active member of the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church and served on various church boards and committees. Following a lengthy illness, Joe passed away at the Clarkfield Care Center on Monday, November 15, 1993 at the age of 86 years. He is survived by his wife: Artys, of Hanley Falls; two sons: Rev. Jarrol (wife Margie) Cole of Blaine, Minnesota, Robert (wife Dr. Lori) Cole of Ellendale, Minnesota; and daughter: JoAnn (husband Lowell) Jaeger of New Ulm, Minnesota. Joe is also survived by eight grandchildren: Rachael, Sarah, Rebekah, Stephanie and Kristina Cole and Derrick, Annie and Laura Jaeger; two sisters: Pearl Brabender of Montevideo, Minnesota; and Harriet Velde of Granite Falls, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Christian and Helga Cole; and two brothers: Lawrence and Roy. BLESSED BE HIS MEMORY.
