John Andrew Trandahl, 88, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, died Tuesday, July 21, 1987, at the Clarkfield Care Center. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 24, 1987, at Israel Lutheran Church with Pastor John T. Christianson, officiating. The organist was Helen Werner with soloist Pastor John T. Christianson. Casket Bearers were Marvin Anderson, Melvin Appelwick, Hubert Hoff, Martin Reishus, Nobel Steffenson and Emil West. Final Resting Place is the Israel Lutheran Church Cemetery of Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was born in Hlesund, Norway in 1899. He came to America at the age of nine with his parents Andrew and Anna (Akre) Trandahl and two sisters and a brother. He farmed with his parents until moving to Clarkfield in 1952. He sold Pioneer Seed Corn for a number of years until he retired. He is survived by his brother Alfred Trandahl of Clarkfield; sisters Emma Johnson of Montevideo, Minnesota, Petra Kompelein of Clarkfield, Minnie Soppeland of Willmar, Minnesota; 19 nieces and nephews; 63 great nieces and nephews.
