Sr. Lundy
February 27, 1896 – September 2, 1978
John Theodore Lundy was born on February 27, 1896, in Belmond, Iowa, to Oliver and Walger (House) Lundy. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Mr. Lundy was a veteran of World War I. On February 24, 1919, he was married to Edith Blanche Davidson in Cottonwood, Minnesota, by Rev. Romstad. To this union ten children were born. In February of 1967 the couple observed 50 years of marriage. He farmed in the area and was still residing on the farm at the time of his death. Mr. Lundy passed away September 2, 1978, at Weiner Hospital, Marshall, Minnesota, at the age of 82 years. He is survived by nine children: Lauraine (Mrs. Clair Soppeland) of Bloomington, Minnesota, Lloyd of Boyd, Minnesota, Jaurold of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, Eugene of Watertown, South Dakota, Virgil of Mound, Minnesota, John Jr. of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Darlene (Mrs. Loyd Rasmussen) of Clarkfield, Minnesota, Lowell of St. Paul, Minnesota, David of Vermillion, South Dakota; 37 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one sister, Bertha (Mrs. Leonard Challly) of Aurora, Illinois; and one brother, Tommy of Marseilles, Illinois. Preceding him in death were his wife, Edith; one son, Raymond; two sisters: Alma (Mrs. Knute Hatteberg) and Lettie (Mrs. Marshall Hellan); and one brother, Martin. IN MEMORY OF JOHN T. LUNDY, SR.
