John Burnell Reishus, who was born on August 5, 1938, in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, to parents Norman and Laverna Reishus, died suddenly at the age of 61 on November 22, 1999. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in rural Cottonwood, Minnesota. John graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1956. John attended the U of M Agriculture School before taking over the family farm. John married Beverly Blabaum and this union was blessed with three children: Steven, Ann, and Michael. John later married Marjorie Anderson on April 9, 1988, whom with he enjoyed a 11 year marriage. John was a life long member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church. John loved his career as a farmer and even during his early retirement enjoyed spending time out on the farm with his nephew Neil as a hired hand. He loved to travel, read, play cards with friends, surf the net, watch sports, spend relaxing time with his neighbors and also loved to laugh. Most of all John loved his family and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. John is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; son Steven and wife Martha of Monticello, Minnesota; daughter Ann of Golden Valley, Minnesota; son Michael and wife Lois of Prior Lake, Minnesota; step children: Brad Anderson and wife Barbara in Collierville, Tennessee, and Gary Anderson and wife Anne of Eagan, Minnesota; four step grandchildren: Jordan and Ryan Anderson and Alec and Collin Anderson; sister Norma and Ralph Dovre; brother Kaye and Sharon Reishus; brother Terry and Sue Reishus; and several nieces and nephews. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to all of you at this very difficult time. We appreciate your support, remembrances and prayers. We will miss John and blessed be his memory.
