IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Warren
Neely
December 12, 1974 – August 15, 1981
John Warren Neely was born December 12, 1974, in Red Wing, Minnesota, to parents, John Floyd Neely and Marilyn Maurine (Warren) Neely. He lived among us in Red Wing and Shakopee, Minnesota, in Big Bear Lake, California, and in Granite Falls, Minnesota. On August 15, 1981, he found another mother, Marcia (Pederson) Neely, as John Floyd and Marcia Kay were joined in marriage. On December 20, 1990, he found a heart and lungs to add to his body, as his own organs were failing. The blood in him then began pulsing with the beating of the heart given by a thirty-eight year old woman, his inspiration of the breath of life coming through her lungs. John Warren (JW) was a student at Granite Falls High School until the time of his death on Friday, October 2, 1992. After a heroic effort for life, he died at home while being held by his parents, John and Marcia Neely. He is survived by his sister, Misty Maurine Neely, Moorhead, Minnesota; his mother, Marilyn Langer, Big Bear Lake, California; his parents, John and Marcia Neely, Granite Falls, Minnesota; his grandmother, Alice Neely, Casper, Wyoming; his grandparents, Mae and Ernest Stoen (Marcia's parents), Montevideo, Minnesota; his brother, Greg Armstrong (Marcia's son), St. Cloud, Minnesota. Funeral Service: Sunday, October 4, 1992, 2:00 p.m., Lynner Funeral Home, Clarkfield, Minnesota Clergy: Orien Vick The ceremony Led by friend Orien Vick, all of us gather to share in our love and to honor JW, to weep at the loss we feel as his body returns to dust, to cry and to laugh at the precious memories he has given for us to weave into ourselves, to revere the gifts of learning and inspiration he has given to us, to sense joy in the freedom he finds as he sheds his shell, and to feel his continuing presence among and within each of us, knowing we are one. We also honor the life of the woman who began sharing her heart and her lungs with JW on December 20, 1990. JWs body is just a little part of the light that shines within his heart. Even when he is asleep, he is awake in every shining star. He is me and I am him. You are me and I am you.
