John Edwin Lindquist was born July 25, 1892, in Swede Prairie Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, the son of Nels P. and Carolina E. (Skald) Lindquist, both natives of Sweden. He was baptized in infancy and confirmed in 1907 by Rev. Carl. He lived on a farm all his life, farming until 1942 when his health failed. He retired and stayed with his brother, George, on the farm till he passed away Saturday, May 8, 1971, at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, at the age of 78 years. He had been hospitalized several times the past few years and for a time, a resident of the nursing home. Now he had been about and interested in the garden and outdoors, when he became seriously ill, Friday, May 7. He is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Hulda Hegdahl of Brainerd, Minnesota, Mrs. Anna Meyer of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Mrs. Hannah Johnson of Clarkfield; three brothers: George, Oscar and Gust Lindquist, all of Clarkfield; fifteen nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mrs. Ida Melbostad; and two brothers: Carl, at the age of 18, and another Carl, in infancy. John was a happy Christian and loved to read his Bible. IN MEMORY OF JOHN E.
