John Lien was born in Clarkfield, Minnesota, on February 22, 1901, to Martin and Mary (Olson) Lien. He was a veteran of WW II. John married Emma Ferguson in March of 1943. He was a carpenter, residing in the Montevideo and Clarkfield areas. He passed away on March 11, 1982, at the age of 81 at the Veterans Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. John is survived by his wife Emma; two daughters, Alice West of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Phyllis Moore of San Diego, California; and one son, Paul Ferguson; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one brother, Melvin. His parents, two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
