John Kvistad April 23, 1914 ~ November 14, 2014 John Kvistad, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014, at the age of 100, in the loving presence of his family at Riverside Assisted Living in Granite Falls, Minnesota. John Kvistad was born April 23, 1914, in Echo, Minnesota, the son of Sivert and Olina (Nydahl) Kvistad. John served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in California and France (1941-1945). In 1943 he married Thelma Christene Foss in Pasadena, California. John and Thelma raised three children at their home in rural Granite Falls. John was a lifelong farmer who experienced the full breath of changes in technology. . .from horse power to computerized machines. John was an active member of the Community Bible Church for many years. He enjoyed reading the Bible, singing hymns, fishing with his friends and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, all 13 of his brothers and sisters, by his wife Thelma, and grandson Burley John. He is survived by his children: Jerome (Bev) Kvistad of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Charlotte (John) Carter of Longwood, Florida, and Dawn Kvistad of Mound, Minnesota; granddaughter: Teresa Kvistad; great grandchildren: Blaze, Trejan and Kayla; and great great grandchildren Calise and Alic. John was kind, nonjudgemental, generous and forgiving in spirit and in deed. Instead of flowers, please forgive someone.
