John Fittje Klosterboer, age 82, died May 23, 2001, at his daughter's home in Boerne, Texas. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Bergen Lutheran Church, Stony Run Township with Pastor Julie Smith officiating. Kathy Dufrane was the organist and soloist was John Walstrom. John Fittje Klosterboer was born on December 30, 1918, in rural Canby, Minnesota, to Anton and Christina (Fittje) Klosterboer. He was baptized in the First Presbyterian Church in Canby, Minnesota. He attended a rural school west of Canby. On March 4, 1945, he was united in marriage to Cordelia Anderson of Clarkfield, Minnesota. To this union, two children were born: Audrey and Wayne John was a faithful member of Bergen Lutheran and served on many boards of the church. He served and was involved in many community activities and boards. He was on the Camp Release Township Board for 33 years. He is survived by his daughter, Audrey (and Weldon) Davis of San Antonio, Texas; two grandsons: Matthew (and Laura) Davis, and Mark Davis; new great granddaughter, Rachel Davis; son Wayne (and Linda) Klosterboer of Montevideo, Minnesota; two granddaughters: Kerri and Kristine. He is also survived by sisters: Mabel Klosterboer of Roseville, Minnesota, Ruby Koenen of Fridley, Minnesota, and Alice (and Donald) Perkins of Dawson, Minnesota; sisters-in-law: Tena Klosterboer of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and Lee Klosterboer of Montevideo, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Marion Levitz of Maynard, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his wife Cordelia; brothers: Henry and Andy; sisters: Elaine VanBrisen and Grace Levitz; brothers-in-law: Ed VanBrisen and Clarence Koenen.
