IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Haynes
"Jack" Lynner
February 16, 1932 – March 9, 1993
"Jack", John Haynes Lynner was born on February 16, 1932, to John and Esther Peterson Lynner at Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed by Rev. J. E. H. Akre at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church, where he has been a lifelong member. Jack attended elementary and high school in Clarkfield and graduated from the Minnesota School of Business and the University of Minnesota School of Mortuary Science. Jack entered the United States Army October 26, 1953, and obtained the rank of Sergeant before he was discharged on October 1, 1955. At the completion of his military service he returned home to the family business, J. H. Lynner Co. in Clarkfield as the third generation. Jack and Lois Mae Olson were married on October 25, 1958 ,at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church by Pastor P. L. Mork. Three children were blessed to this marriage: Lori Anne in 1960; Kristi Diane in 1961 and John Howard in 1963. At six months of age, Kristi Diane died of quick pneumonia. Jack loved Clarkfield and the community. He served on several church boards, succeeding his father as sexton of the church cemetery. The Clarkfield Community Memorial Hospital was of extreme importance to Jack. He worked hard, as a board member, to keep it going. He was an active member of the Lions Club. The YMC Museum in Hanley Falls was so important. He loved the place and people and was on the original board, now serving as secretary. Jack is a current member and past president of Minnesota Retail Association and the Western Minnesota Shrine Club. The Shrine Circus and Crippled Children's Hospital were also important to him. He was a lifetime member of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association. Jack worked to enhance the integrity of the Red Cross Organ Donation Program and valued the contributions and friendships of his fellow board members. Rural America, its people, medical facilities, schools, roads, businesses and future were Jack's high priority, always. He expected the very best from himself, his family, and co-workers; thus being able to help anywhere, anytime, in many ways. He delighted in his classic cars and shared them in local and area parades. Jack passed away on Tuesday evening, March 9, 1993, as the result of an automobile-truck accident near Hanley Falls, Minnesota. His son, John was with him at the time. Jack's family includes his wife Lois; son John of Clarkfield; daughter Lori and fiance, Gary Skrien, both of Minneapolis; his sister Myra Peterson of Clarkfield and her family: John, Mary Lee, G.
