John (Jack) Lynne, Sr. went home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 3, 1995 at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis due to complications following open heart surgery. Jack was born on August 30, 1932 to Elsie and Melford Lynne at Boyd, Minnesota. He graduated from Clarkfield in 1950. He worked for Standard Oil before he entered the Army in 1953. He was discharged in 1955. He married Delight Trandahl in 1954 and lived in the cities and Montevideo, and then came back to Clarkfield and worked for Cenex Co-op Oil Co. To this union were born Jody, Joy, John, Jr., Jayme and Jerry. On September 26, 1975, Jack married Sharon Grengs of St. Leo, Minnesota. Jack also worked for General Dryer Corporation at Clarkfield and Roger's Hydraulic at Granite Falls until his health failed. He is survived by his mother, Elsie Hilden of Clarkfield, his brother, Merle of Minneapolis, two daughters Jody (Gary) Olson, Joy (Larry) Miller, five sons: John, Jr. of Alexandria, Jayme (Tami) Lynne of Clarkfield, Jerry (Justine) Lynne of St. Cloud, Christopher (Natalie) Grengs of Oswego, New York, and Jon David Grengs of Granite Falls. Also 16 grandchildren, five nephews and two nieces. He is preceded in death by his father, Melford; step-father, Alfred Hilden, and niece Melanie Lynne.
