Jack Londgren December 7th, 1928 - November 13th, 2016 Jack Londgren, of Clarkfield, died Sunday, November 13, 2016, at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 87. Funeral services postponed to Saturday, November 19, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Rev. David Peterson will officiate and interment will be at Swede Home Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. and also for one hour before the services on Friday. John Lee Londgren was born December 7, 1928, at Marshall, MN, the son of Harry and Helen (Stewart) Londgren. He grew up in the Lynd, MN area before moving with his family to rural Clarkfield. He graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1946. Jack served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage with Marlys Oakland August 15, 1951, at her parents home. They made their home and farmed in Normania Township of Yellow Medicine County. He was a director of Consumers Coop in Clarkfield for 27 years and on the Western Coop Transport Board for many years. Jack was very active at Swede Home Lutheran Church. He was involved with Pioneer Power Machinery Club and enjoyed restoring John Deere tractors and Ford cars. They enjoyed many summers at their lake home on Maple Lake. Jack also enjoyed fishing and hunting. They moved into Valhalla Apartments in Clarkfield two years ago. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in August. He is survived by his wife, Marlys; five children: Dennis (Carol) Londgren of Litchfield, MN, David (Karen) Londgren of Clarkfield; Steven (Julie) Londgren of Clarkfield, Lori (Ron) Risa of Clarkfield, and Greg (Dawn) Londgren of Clarkfield; eleven grandchildren: Angie (Mark) Hankel, Amy (Allan) Nelson, Dustin Londgren, Deena (Seth) Aus, Cody McCoy, Jay Londgren, Todd (Lori) Risa, Jeff (Brenda) Risa, Krystle (Dustin) Enninga, Sami Jo (Richard) Sorbo, Garrett (Mollie Nielson) Londgren; nineteen great-grandchildren: Carson, Tenley, Teagan, Hunter, Emmitt, Gunner, Merrick, Oakleigh, Jennifer (Travis), Jamie (Chris), Steven (Anna), Wyatt, Walker, Waylon, Alex, Kyler, Kelten, Kresley, and Colsten; six great-great-grandchildren: Parker, Jada, Haley Jo, Avery, McKaylee, and Paisley; two brothers: James Londgren of Braham, MN and Tom (Susie) Londgren of Mt. Juliet, TN; sister, Mary Jo Haaland of Marshall, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Linda Jo Londgren in 1953; and a brother, Bob Londgren.
