John Fred Flink was born in Barne Asaka, Skaraborgs- lan Sweden, February 24, 1889, the son of Johannes and Johanna (Karlson) Flink. At the age of 17 he came to America and directly to the Clarkfield community. Here he worked as a farmhand until the year 1914 when he and his brother, Axel, became engaged in farming together. After his brother passed away in 1955, Fred continued farming until his retirement in 1963, at which time he moved to Clarkfield. Mr. Flink passed away Friday, March 13, 1964, at the Clarkfield Nursing Home at the age of 75 years. He is survived by one sister, Elsie (Mrs. Oscar Simons) of Minneapolis, seven nieces and six nephews in this country and several in Sweden.
