Johannes Anderson was born January 9, 1903, to Andrew and Gjertrud (Nilsen) Anderson in Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended rural school in Yellow Medicine County. On January 14, 1930, he was united in marriage to Margaret Stensrud. To this union five children were born: Marlys, Arden, Gordon, Dorothy and Bernice. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Goodridge, Minnesota, Pennington County, where they farmed until 1948 when they moved back to the Clarkfield area. Johannes worked on construction for K. A. Thompson and Sons until the early 1960's when they moved to Little Pine Lake at Perham, Minnesota. They came back to the Montevideo and Clarkfield area in 1974. Johannes resided at the Clarkfield Care Center for one and one half years where he passed away June 17, 1992, at the age of 89 years. He is survived by children: Marlys and Archie Froland of Clarkfield, Arden and wife Pat of Princeton, Minnesota, Dorothy and Merlyn Brown of Clarkfield and Bernice and Eugene Moseng of Montevideo; fourteen grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister: Anna of Milaca, Minnesota; brothers: Nels and wife Myrtle of Willmar, Minnesota and Gerhard and wife Lila of Cottonwood; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Margaret; son Gordon and sister Gunhild Trandahl. Blessed be his memory.
