Jerule Oldys Kise was born to parents Niel M. and Alma (Brusven) Kise at Cottonwood, Minnesota, on June 12, 1916. He was baptized and confirmed in Cottonwood. Jerule graduated from Cottonwood High School. He attended St. Olaf College in Northfield and graduated with a four year degree. Jerule served in the United States Military from November 1942 - December 1945. While in the service, he married Edith Margaret Wangsness. They were the parents of two children: Karen and Todd. Following serving in the Military, he returned to Minnesota. He worked for Red Owl Frozen Food Division in Hopkins, Minnesota. He was a manager in the Frozen Food Department. He enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the American Legion at Waite Park, Minnesota. Prior to moving to the Minnesota Veterans Home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, he was residing at the Pelican Lakes Health Care Center. Jerule passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at the Veterans Home at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 12 days. He is survived by daughter: Karen (and Orris) Herness of Ashby, Minnesota, and son: Todd (and Sharon) Kise of Portland, Oregon. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Matthew Kise, Justin Kise, Shelly Liggett, Tami (and Rick) Leitch and Nicole (and Allie) Johnson and great grandchildren: Dustin Leitch, Noah Johnson, Livy Johnson, Julie Liggett and Megan Liggett. He was preceded in death by his parents Niel and Alma Kise, step-mother Helen (Bly) Kise and brother Curtis Dahl. Blessed be his memory.
