Jens Gotfried Rowberg, 93, died November 27, 1986, at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 1, 1986, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls, Minnesota, with Pastor Larry Olson officiating. Organist was Mavis Gustafson. Casket Bearers were Stanley Berg, Everett Eye, Keith Harris, David Oftedahl, Allen Torke and Larry Torke. Final Resting Place is the West Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery, Hanley Falls, Minnesota. Military rites were by the Legion A.B. Post 127 of Hanley Falls, Minnesota. He was born March 17, 1893, the son of Even and Anne (Aasen) Rowberg of Hanley Falls. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He farmed until he went into the service in 1918. When he returned home in July 1919 he went back into farming with his brother Conrad and also hauled livestock to south St. Paul. Years later he moved into town and went into a hardware and cabinet shop. After he retired, his interests were rocks, American Legion and the Museum in Hanley Falls. After 1983 he lived at the Clarkfield Care Center. He is survived by brother Gilbert of the Appleton Nursing Home; sister-in-law Ella Rowberg of Hanley Falls; nieces and nephews.
