IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jenny Marie
Lee
July 22, 1887 – February 2, 1970
Mrs. Jenny Lee was born in Marnes, Norway, to Johan Edward and Amelia Karoline (Joakenson) Johansen on July 22, 1887. She was baptized September 25, 1887, and confirmed June 21, 1902, at the Gildeskal church in Norway. She attended the public school in Marnes, Norway. In the year 1909, Jenny and her brother, George Johnson, came to America. She resided at the home of her uncle, Martin Oleson, in Badger, Iowa, for a while. She then was employed in Fort Dodge, Iowa, until her marriage on March 29, 1916. To this union eight children were born, three of whom survive. She devoted most of her life to her family and was active in her church as long as she was able. She suffered a severe stroke in the fall of 1950 which left her somewhat disabled. With determination, she and her husband continued keeping up their home until about two years ago when she was admitted to the Clarkfield Care Center where she received tender and loving care. Mrs. Lee was admitted to the hospital on January 28th and passed away on February 2, 1970, at the age of 82 years. Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, two sisters and five children. She is survived by her husband, Iver; two daughters and a son, two sons-in-law and a daughter-in- law and seven grandchildren, namely: Mr. and Mrs. Art (Alida) Forbord of Clarkfield, Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Ruby) Benson of Windom, Minnesota, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee of Bloomington, Minnesota. Grandchildren are Mrs. Norman (Cherrie) Meyer, Gary Forbord, Cathie and Mike Benson and Cindy, Michael and Lori Lee. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother in Norway and a host of relatives and friends. IN MEMORY OF MRS.
