Jennie Carlotte Peterson was born on December 6, 1908 in Lisbon Township to Bennie and Emma Iverson Brovold. She died October 31, 1997 at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 88. Jennie was baptized on January 25, 1909 and confirmed on November 4, 1923 at Bergen Lutheran Church of rural Clarkfield. She married Alfred Peterson in Clear Lake, South Dakota, on February 8, 1934. They farmed south of Clarkfield until his illness and death. To this union one son, James, was born. Jennie was a loving wife and mother. She was very active in the Spring Creek Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and was a member of RSVP. Jennie loved baking, crocheting, quilting, entertaining family and friends, playing cards and bingo. She is survived by her son James and wife Lynn of Clarkfield; sister Mamie Amundson of Minneapolis; brother Clint Brovold and wife Doris of Granite Falls; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers Olaf, Ernest, Benford and Ingeval Brovold; sisters Cora Johnson and Esther Nelson.
