Jeannette O. Hanson was born on October 3, 1907, to John and Gunda Brecke in Friendship Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She moved with her parents to Swede Prairie Township. She married Harry B. Hanson on June 3, 1926, and to this union one daughter, Harriet, was born. They lived in Swede Prairie Township until 1971 when they retired and moved to Clarkfield. Harry passed away in 1975. Jeannette entered the Clarkfield Care Center in 1994. Jeannette loved music and was an organist for Swede Home Church for many years. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting and playing cards with her friends. She is survived by her daughter, Harriet (and Irving) Anderson; grandchildren: Bruce (and Alvina) Anderson of Clarkfield; Brian Anderson of Orlando, Florida; great grandchildren: Alecia (and Ty Malek) of Highwood, Montana, Sarah (and Darren) Manthey of St. Paul and Jon Anderson of Clarkfield; one great great grandson, Darren Malek of Highwood, Montana; one sister, Evelyn Anderson of Granite Falls, Minnesota; and also several in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Esther; brothers: Carl, Arnold and Edgar. Jeannette passed away at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital on August 14, 1998, at the age of 90. May her memory be blessed.
