Janna Mathilda Olson was born in Sioux Agency Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, on March 16, 1889, to John and Anna (Maurson) Imes. She was baptized and confirmed in the Rock Valley Lutheran Church by Rev. Erick Erickson. On March 28, 1918, she was united in marriage to Henry H. Olson of Hazel Run, at the John Imes home. Three daughters were born to this union: Hazel (Mrs. Reuben Fadness) of rural Granite Falls, Judith (Mrs. Allard Stevens) of Granite Falls, and Harriet (Mrs. Robert Rodeberg) of Montevideo. Mrs. Olson passed away in her sleep on March 14, 1968, at her Friendship Township farm home at the age of 78 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. She is survived by her husband, Henry; three daughters; nine grandchildren; three great grandchldren; one sister, Mrs. Gena Olson of Boyd; four brothers: Carl and Ingval Imes of Granite Falls, Ole and Sivert Imes of Echo; and a number of nieces and nephews.
