Jane Solveig Christensen, the daughter of Carl and Nina Christensen was born September 20, 1936, at Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was baptized on November 18, 1936, at the Spring Creek Lutheran Church by Rev. J.E.H. Akre and confirmed her faith before the same congregation and Rev. Akre in 1950. Jane had lived with her parents on the family farm south of Clarkfield until the time of her graduation from the University of Minnesota in 1957. She was employed by the American Red Cross in the field of recreational therapy until 1965 when she served in a similar occupation at the Fergus Falls State Hospital in Minnesota. Miss Christensen was returning to visit her parents on Saturday, July 20, 1968, when a few miles from her destination, she was involved in a fatal motor accident. She was 31 years of age. She was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy Christensen. Surviving are her parents, Carl and Nina Christensen of Hanley Falls; and three brothers: Stanley of Hanley Falls, Allan of Bloomington and John of Clarkfield.
