Iver O. Lee was born October 12, 1888, in Bergen, Norway, to Ole and Martha (Larson) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, and attended the public schools in Norway. He came to the United States as a young man in 1908. His uncle, Andrew Lee, lived in Clarkfield where he first came and worked around Clarkfield. Then he moved to Iowa, where he met his wife, Jennie Johnson, and they were married in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on March 29, 1916. They moved to Clarkfield where they have lived throughout their lives. He worked as a janitor in Clarkfield Public School for several years, then entered the carpenter trade, which he continued the rest of his life. Mr. Lee has made his home with his daughter, Alida, the past eight years, but in September his health failed him, and from that time he made his home in the Clarkfield Care Center. He passed away at the Clarkfield Hospital on January 3, 1975, at the age of 86. He was active in church, serving in various capacities as long as he was able. Iver was preceded in death by his wife in 1970, five children and one son-in-law, Art Forbord. He is survived by two daughters and a son; one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. They are Alida Forbord of Clarkfield, Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Ruby) Benson of Windom, Minnesota, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee of Bloomington, Minnesota. Grandchildren are Mrs. Sherrie Meyer, Gary Forbord, Cathy Veenker, Michael Benson, and Cindy, Michael and Lori Lee. Great grandchildren are Matthew and Kristen Meyer, Monica Forbord, Amy and John Veekner. In Norway he leaves to mourn one sister, Anna, and two brothers, Nils and Lars. IN MEMORY OF IVER O.
