Isabelle Marie Thompson was born in Fillmore County, Minnesota, on May 5, 1863. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Iverson. At the age of two, her mother died and the family moved to Northwood, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. In 1886 she moved to Minneota, Minnesota, where she operated a dress shop. On May 17, 1888, she was united in marriage to T.K. Thompson. They lived on their farm in Westerheim Township, Lyon County, Minnesota, until the death of her husband in 1937. Since that time she has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Roy Meyer of Westerheim Township. She has been a member of, and a good and faithful worker, in the St. Lucas Ladies Aid, since the time of their origin. She passed peacefully away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Meyer, Saturday, May 22, 1954, a the age of 91 years. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Ole Hauygorde of Pine River, Minnesota, and a brother, Iver Iverson of Almora, Minnesota. She is survived by her seven children, namely, Knute, Della (Mrs. Henry Miller) Oluf, Rosan (Mrs. Roy Meyer), all of Cottonwood, Mary (Mrs. Oscar Miller) and Marvin of Marshall, Minnesota, and May (Mrs. L.R. Anderson) of Irene, South Dakota; eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Blessed be her memory.
