Irene Ann Gunlogson died on August 24, 2020 at Minneota Manor Nursing Home at age 80.  Irene was born in Clarkfield, MN to Steve and Marjoe (Gudmundson) Gunlogson on August 26, 1939 (her parents'wedding anniversary date.) She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Clarkfield High School.

Irene lived and worked as a nurse's aid in a nursing home in Minneapolis, MN for over 20 years.  She returned to Minneota, MN to help care for her aunt, Sophie Gudmundson.  She continued to live at the Madison Avenue Apartments for almost 30 years before spending her last years at the Minneota Manor.  Irene was known for her helpfulness at the Madison Avenue Apartments, volunteering to deliver newspapers, helping in the kitchen, folding laundry, etc.  She was baptized, confirmed, and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Minneota.

Irene is survived by siblings Peter (LeAnn), Elin, and Eric (Kathy); nieces, Angela and Laura; nephew, Bill (Kristi), and great nieces and nephews Ella and Avery Sickles, and Hunter, Jackson, and Alyssa Gunlogson.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Neil and Mark.

An outdoor memorial service and interment will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 2020 at Westerheim Cemetery in rural Minneota at 11 AM. Due to COVID-19, wearing of masks is encouraged. Memorials are preferred to the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota.
