IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Iren Ervin
Peterson
May 23, 1917 – September 11, 1999
Iren Ervin Peterson was born on May 23, 1917, on a farm near Pipestone, Minnesota, to parents Martin and Susie (Mateer) Peterson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. The family moved to a farm they had purchased near Correll, Minnesota, where Iren attended and graduated from the Correll High School. He then attended a business college. Iren decided he wanted to farm. He enjoyed working with the animals and tilling the soil. He hired two of his nephews, Rick and Marty Dirnberger of Echo, Minnesota, to help. Iren also had local boys helping ride bean buggy, etc. Iren and Phyllis Erickson were united in marriage on January 23, 1954, at the American Lutheran Parsonage in Echo, Minnesota, by Pastor Narong. They lived on their farm east of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, and for the past five years have rented their farm out. Iren enjoyed gardening and keeping his lawn in great shape. He belonged to the Senior Citizens in Hanley Falls. He was a member of the Sandnes Town Board for several years and also was on the Lumberyard Board. Iren passed away on Saturday, September 11, 1999, as a result of an automobile accident on Highway 23, near Cottonwood, Minnesota. He was 82 years, 3 months and 20 days old. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis and a sister lone Day of TerraVella, California, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Warren Peterson. Blessed be his memory.
