Ingval Wilson was born in Columbia County, Wisconsin, August 26, 1878, the son of Halvor and Annie (Tongen) Wilson. He was baptized by Rev. H.A. Preus. At the age of five, he together with his parents and two brothers moved to Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, where he lived until his confirmation year, when he went back to Rio, Wisconsin, to live with his grandparents while taking confirmation instructions. There he was confirmed by Rev. C.K. Preus, a son of H.A. Preus. A short time later he returned to his home here and has been a resident of the Hazel Run community all his life with the exception of four years spent on a claim in North Dakota. Ingval was an active member of Hazel Run Lutheran Church, served as one of the auditors for several years. He was always interested in civic affairs and for the betterment of his community. He was a kind and loving brother, a friend of everyone, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He passed away at the Clarkfield Community Hospital, Clarkfield, Minnesota, Saturday morning, January 24th, 1953, after a lingering illness. He leaves to mourn his departure four brothers and three sisters: Martha, Hilda and August of Hazel Run, Oscar, Hans and Lawrence of Montevideo, Minnesota, and Nettie (Mrs. Emil Mikelson) of Clarkfield; six nieces and four nephews.
