Ingebret J. Hauge was born March 7, 1875, on the farm in Lisbon Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. He passed away June 17, 1968, at the Montevideo Hospital, at the age of 93 years. His parents were Jens and Joanna (Wangnes) Hauge. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and was a life member of the Bergen Lutheran Church. For a few years, he was assistant depot agent at Wood Lake, Minnesota, and Spokane, Washington. When his father passed away, he returned to the farm and with his brother, Carl, made a home for the family which was always greatly appreciated by his sisters and brothers. He was interested in music and with pleasure the family listened to him play various instruments. His kindness and helpfulness will always be remembered by the Hauge family. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; four brothers: Helge, Marcus, Carl and James; three sisters: Ida, Clara, and Hannah. He is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Jennie Lund of St. Paul Park, Minnesota, Mrs. Mabel Shepard and Selma Hauge of Clarkfield; two nieces: Mrs. Joan Steele of St. Paul Park, Minnesota, Mrs. Joanna Strobel of Moscow, Idaho; three nephews: Harris Hauge of Monmouth, Illinois, Arley Lund of Park Rapids, Minnesota, and Arthur Jan Lund of Wadena, Minnesota.
